It has been announced that Deadpool will join the list of slated comic book movies to hit cinemas next year, but what can we expect from the movie and who exactly is Deadpool.

Fox have now officially announced that the Ryan Reynolds fronted movie will hit cinemas February 12th 2016. It will be the first time Wade Wilson alter ego Deadpool, has appeared in a movie since Reynolds portrayed the character in 2009 Wolverine movie.

The Mercenary that is Deadpool is not your typical heros but more an anti hero similar to that of Blade who was portrayed by Wesley Snipes, or the Punisher.

With a release date in sight it means that productions will have to start within the next few months. So here we look to clear up some of the question you may have about the movie like who is directing ? and What will it be about?.

It had been mooted that Robert Rodriguez would take to the directors chair for the X-Men spin off movie, but we have since learned that Tim Miller will make his directional debut. for those that have no idea who he is, Miller own Blur studios who have created visula effect for movies like Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

It being rumoured that the movie will make references to Deadpools appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie, and will frequently express his disappointment with his portrayal back in 2009.

When the movie was confirmed to be pressing ahead, one of the first question that was asked was who will play Deadpool, would Ryan Reynolds be brought back or would another actor be cast. Reynolds has a back ground with featuring in comic book adaption with his break out role-playing Hannibal King in Blade Trinity, as well as starring in the renowned flop Green lantern and more recently starring in R.I.P.D. But it wasn’t long before the Canadian actor was confirmed to reprise his role.

Reynolds recently commented on the future of the movie when talking to MTV stating, “It’s happening the right way”, he said. “That’s all that matters. We don’t have the kind of money that most superhero movies do, but that’s great. Necessity is the mother of invention, and that’s why we get to make the movie we want to make”.

Back in 2012, when the creative team behind Deadpool was still trying to convince the studio to let them move forward, an idea was hatched. Director Tim Miller and actor Ryan Reynolds got together, took a portion of the existing Deadpool script, and put together some test footage created in motion capture ( See it below). It apparently didn’t really move the approval needle when it was shown to executives back then, but that story completely changed when the clip found its way online in July. Fans went absolutely nuts for the video, and it’s believed by many – including Rob Liefeld – that the leak was largely responsible for the film getting the green light at Fox.

It’s also believed that the movie will introduce other mutants which will be integrated into the X-Men franchise, although there is no exact information of who this will be, all we can say for now is watch this space.

Deadpool is a senseless killer who works for cash so expect plenty of blood and gore and high octane action, and hopefully at least a 15 ( R Rated) certificate and not a 12 A ( PG-13) which so many of the recent comic book movie haves been.
