The Planets of the Apes Franchise will be back for a third installment this time entitled ‘War of the planets of the Apes’.

Back in 2011 Rise of the Planet of the Apes hit Cinemas, rebooting a franchise that had been around since the 1960, but not been heard of for 10 years.  The reworking of the movie gave it a back story drew audiences in and went on to earn $493 million at the box office with 21st Century Fox quickly signing on to make a sequel.

Last year saw ‘ Dawn of the Planets of the Apes’ released with Andy Serkis being nominated for a best actor award as Caesar, and pulling in over $700 million at the worldwide box office.  So now its no wonder that a 3rd installment has been announced and scheduled for a 2017 release date.

The titles in its self when looking back at the end of ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ seems rather suited, with Caesars final words saying “Ape started war. And human… Human will not forgive.”

It would seem logical that the next installment will be the biggest so far, with the last movie constructed to leave audiences on the edge of the seat wanting more, and more we will get.

War of the Planet of the Apes will hit Cinemas in July 2017.
