US drama The Affair set to air on Sky Atlantic in the UK.

Sky Atlantic have secured the rights to Showtimes Gloden Globe series ‘The Affair’.

The Affair stars Dominic West (The Wire), who was nominated for a 2015 Golden Globe Award for Best Performance By An Actor In A Television Series, Drama for his role in the series, and Ruth Wilson (Luther), who won the 2015 Golden Globe Award for Best Performance By An Actress In A Television Series, Drama for her role.

The series comes to the UK after it was renewed for a second season which is due to air later this year, Sky Atlantic will air the first season, with the second season to follow shortly after.

The critically acclaimed drama explores the emotional and psychological effects of an extramarital affair. The provocative drama is told separately from the male and female perspectives, using the distinct memory biases to both misdirect and intrigue. Wilson plays Alison, a young woman waiting tables at a popular Hamptons diner, trying to piece her life back together in the wake of a tragedy. Her husband Cole (Jackson) struggles to keep it all together, with his wife and with the financially-strained ranch that has been in his family for generations.

Zai Bennett, Director of Sky Atlantic commented on the recent aquisiton of the Affair stating , “Its intricate storytelling and phenomenal acting sit perfectly on the channel, further cementing our channel’s position as the home of quality drama in the UK.”

The Affair also stars Maura Tierney, Joshua Jackson and Julia Goldani Telles. See the trailer below.
