The first installment of EuropaCorp‘s rebooted Transporter franchise, The Transporter Legacy, will be released in North America via EuropaCorp USA on March 6.

The Movie is currently in  production with Camille Delamarre (Brick Mansions) directing from a script by Exodus scribes Bill Collage and Adam Cooper. EuropaCorps’ Luc Besson (Taken and Transporter franchises) and Fundamental Films’ Mark Gao are producing. This is the first EuropaCorp deal stemming from the joint distribution agreement reached with Relativity in February. Under that pact, EuropaCorp titles will be released under EuropaCorp USA and Relativity titles under Relativity.

Set in the criminal underworld of France, Transporter Legacy stars Ed Skrein (Game Of Thrones, Northmen: A Viking Saga) as Frank Martin (The Transporter) who will deliver anything for a price. He eventually crosses paths with Anna (Loan Chabanol), the leader of a group of deadly assailants, who decides Frank is the man to take down a group of ruthless Russian human traffickers. Anna holds Frank’s father (Ray Stevenson) for ransom to ensure his cooperation and both of them are forced to team up with Anna to bring the villains to justice. Radivoje Bukvic (Taken), Gabriella Wright, Anatole Taubman (Taken, Quantum Of Solace) and Tatiana Pajkovic also star.

The first and second “Transporter” movies, helmed by Louis Leterrier, grossed  $85.1 million worldwide. The third, directed by Olivier Megaton and handled by Lionsgate, grossed $108.9 million, with a combinded budget of the less that $96 million.
