Mark Wahlberg has recently spoke about having signed up for a sequel to Transformers: Age of Extinction, and that Transformers 5 could be here soon, but what else is in store for the robotic  franchise.

The biggest Box office hit this year was Michael Bays most recent installment to the Transformers Franchise, taking in over 1 Billion dollars.  So it’s no wonder that Paramount are ready to keep the franchise alive.

In a recent interview whilst promoting his latest movie release ‘The Gambler’, MTV asked Wahlberg about his role in the Transformers movie, and whether we could expect to see him again he commented.

“Yeah, I committed to doing a couple more”, he confirmed to MTV. As for when? “I can’t speak for Mr Bay, but something tells me we’ll be on the set soon”.

So a couple more movie would indeed lead us to believe that there will for now at least be a Transformer 5 & 6 possibly even a 7th.  But the question is who will direct ?

At the moment Micheal Bay has not committed to being on board for another movie,  the last we heard was that he had set up the franchise to hand it off to possibly another director or creative team, for further movies.

It has been mooted about that Paramount are eyeing up a 2016 release date, if this is the case it maybe a little to soon for Bay to jump back into the directors chair. We also hope that he will commit himself to the Bad boys 3 movies before he takes on any other projects. Maybe if the look to a 2017 release date, and Bay has a couple of projects done and dusted he maybe ready to return to the franchise.

For now we will just have to wait and see, but I certainty do hope that Bay comes back as in the past Franchise dot always go on to be as good when a new director steps in to the fold.

We will keep you posted.
