With a new 13 episode mini series of Heroes expected to come back to NBC, sometime in 2015, creator Tim Kring recently spoke to Entertainment weekly about what to expect.

When asked about when the new series would be set, Kring confirmed that the new series will take place 4 years after series 4 finished, and confirmed it would “tie into some of the ideas that were left dangling” in series 4.

Kring is currently working on his promising new USA Network limited series Dig, an archeology adventure starring Jason Isaacs as an FBI legal agent working in Jerusalem who stumbles onto a conspiracy, so at present he has not even written the full screenplay, but when speaking about what characters we could expect to return for the 5th series of Heroes he stated,

“The vast, vast majority are brand new characters, brand new ideas. [Bringing back previous characters is] really only to give a sense of continuity and a tether to the original world. If it was all completely brand new, we’d miss certain elements that need to be there to give you that bridge to cross to something new. I approached Coleman because he was a character who had a spine through the series that allowed you to meet new characters. So he’s a character I wanted to make sure had a little part at the beginning of this thing.”

We know that Zachary Quinto will not be returning with a full schedule currently working on Hitman: Agent 47 and with Star Trek 3 currently in development it wont be long before he is reprising his role as Spock.

Milo Ventimiglia and Ali Larter have both publicly stated  they won’t be returning as Peter Petrelli and Niki/Jessica Sanders.
