Sky Atlantic new Crime Thriller The Tunnel from the makers of Broadchruch will have its premier this coming Wednesday (16th October), is it worth the watch?.

The Tunnel starts when a politician turns up mutilated in the  Euro Tunnel on the border divide of Britain and France.   French Detective Elise (Clémence Poésy from  Games of Throne) is the lead officer for the French with little to no personality and is a blunt straight talking police officer to the point of rudeness.  Her counter part for the British is Karl ( Stephen Dillane from the BBC Hunted) who believe it or not has a contrasting personality to Elise with a jovial attitude towards matters.  As the serial killer uses ever more elaborate and ingenious methods to highlight the moral bankruptcy of modern society, Karl and Elise are drawn deeper into his increasingly personal agenda.

You will have to be sure that the program has your undivided attentions ( unless you speak fluent french) as the program is both in English and French and in the initial 15 minutes of the program is mainly spoken in French, to ensure you are able to keep with the plot pay attention.  With Body’s turning up cut in 2 and amputated fingers being found it may not be for the faint hearted, but certainly for someone who enjoys the twists and turns of a murder mystery.

Sky Atlantic HD have collaborated with French broadcaster CANAL + and Kudos TV, British creators of Life On Mars, for an Anglo-French remake of the Nordic program The Bridge.  The Tunnel has come about after BSKYB pledged to invest 600 million a year into to new British programs across is channels.

The Tunnel – Sky Atlantic – Wednesday 16th October – 9pm
