The psychic investigator series The Mentalist will come to an end after the fourth coming 7th series.

CBS have confirmed that the Simon Baker fronted show will, have one  further run of 13 episodes and then draw to a close.

The crime drama, which follows a former psychic who serves as a consultant to the FBI, will return on November 30, temporarily taking over the Sunday night slot from The Good Wife for a five-week period.

On January 4, The Mentalist will then move to its new Wednesday night slot, where it will air its remaining episodes before concluding with a two-hour final on February 18.

Prior to confirmation of the show’s seventh season, rumours had suggested that the police procedural drama could move to a new network if axed by CBS.

Reports say that Warner Bros may still seek out interest, but noted that a prospective buyer would want to see how the final season performs.

Season 7 of the Mentalist will air on Channel 5 in the UK some time in 2015.
