After The CW new series premiering in the US back in March E4 have finally confirmed there UK air date.

The 100 Created by Jason Rothenberg, , which is pronounced “The Hundred,” is a truly exciting science-fiction series set 97 years after a nuclear apocalypse wiped out the entire population of Earth. The only survivors were the 400 inhabitants of 12 international space stations that were in orbit at the time. Three generations have been born in space, the survivors now number 4,000, and resources are running out on their dying “Ark”, the 12 stations now linked together and repurposed to keep the survivors alive. Draconian measures including capital punishment and population control are the order of the day, as the leaders of the Ark take ruthless steps to ensure their future.

In order to save the human race, 100 juvenile delinquents (anyone over the age of 18 who commits a crime) are sent to Earth’s surface to determine whether or not it’s inhabitable once again. They were chosen because their crimes made them expendable, and even if they didn’t survive the journey to the surface, their departure from the Ark at least bought the rest of the population another month of life. This is the harsh reality of The 100.

If you have ever seen the movie Elysium starring Matt Damon, then you may already have a clear vision of what the series may look like. The US Viewing figures were so good for the new series that The CW renewed the 100 for a further season early on, meaning you wont be left dangling not knowing if the story will continue. So if you like Scifi programs which don’t revolve around people flying around in space ( Battle Star Gallatica or Star trek), then this is certainly worth a watch.
