Strike Back Season 5 has been highly anticipated by the shows fans, and will be sadly missed after its last season.

The final series was originally supposed to air in late summer early Autumn of 2014 but whilst filming last March HBO/Cinemax released a statement which included the following.

“After an off-set accident involving Sullivan Stapleton, there has been a change in the Strike Back production schedule. Following completion of shooting in Thailand, production in Hungary will be on hiatus to allow him time to recover. We plan on resuming production in the fall. HBO/Cinemax, Sky and Left Bank Pictures all join in wishing Sullivan a full and speedy recovery.”

British-American military television series, based on a novel by a former agents of the SAS follows 2 military personnel one American (STapleton) and British (Winchester) who complete top secret missions including Hostage rescue, to taking out terrorist networks.

Robson Green who plays Colonel Philip Locke in the Sky1 and Cinemax action series recently spoke about the fourth coming series stating,

“It’s the best yet, Michael Bassett directs an absolutely thrilling end to what has been an incredible action series for television.”

He then spoke about turning 50 and still doing the show,

“What an experience, hitting 50 and taking on North Korea and saving the western world from a missile attack.” He continued, “The action scenes are fine – [with] any series you’ve got to look after yourself,”

It has been rumoured that the last series will commence in April 2015 both in the UK and the US, but neither of the networks have currently confirmed anything.

More on this as we have it.
