Need for Speed 2 gets official greenlight with Asia as the backdrop

A sequel to last years Need for Speed movie is on its way, with production set to commence later this year.

The Movie that was adapted from the popular game hit cinemas last year, bring in just over $200 on a £66 million budget.

Electronic Arts is working with China Movie Channel Programme Centre, Jiaflix Enterprises and 1905 Pictures for a project that will mostly shoot in Asia.

At present right holders Dream works have got to officially sign of on the movie, but from sources it seems this is just a matter of time, and either way development for Need for Speed 2 is still moving forward.

Pre production is set to start back end of this year with shooting set to start in early 2016.

At present Break Bad star Aaron Paul has not committed to the project, but it certainly seems that life of leaving cult Tv series Breaking Bad is looking good for the actor.  His credits last year also included starring in Ridley Scotts Exodus of Gods, A Long way down and Hellion he is also expected to star later this year in Triple 9 alongside Kate Winslet and Gal Gadot.

The original also featured Dominic Cooper, Academy Award nominee Michael Keaton and Imogen Poots in supporting roles.
