The Marvel Universe continues to expand, and in a recent leak from Sony we may see Spiderman crossing over.

According to The Wall Street Journal Sony which has a long-term licence in relation to Spider-Man – had talks with Marvel about including Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War.

the leaked documents also spoke about a suggested scenario in which Marvel would produce three new Spider-Man movies, while Sony kept “creative control, marketing and distribution”.

At present Marvel have not taken Sony up on their offer, but the rumour mill has been going into over drive Marvel Studio president Kevin Feige was recently asked about the possible Spidy crossover with him stating outright that he wouldn’t comment until something is official. In the world of movies when something is not true its normally denied, but when something is either in talks, or trying to be kept under wraps then the tag line “No comment” is normally given.

So the possibility is still there that Spiderman may turn up in Captain American 3, which would introduce the character nicely to make a following appearance in Avengers Infinity Part 1.

It has also been confirmed that the ABC series ‘Agents of shield’ will tie in with the upcoming Avengers sequel.

“You should expect something,” Josh Whedon told Entertainment Weekly. “The Avengers is the big tent that all the franchises play under. Obviously, we’re included in that.”

Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released on April 24 in the UK, and opens on May 1 in the US.
