The 2002 scifi Movie Minority report starring Tom Cruise and Colin Farrell, is the next movie to receive its TV adaption.

The new projects from Steven Spielsbergs Amblin Television and Godzila writer Max Borenstein, has been found a home at Fox with the pilot now set to go into production.

The series which is expected to carry on from the original movie with a setting of 10 years after precrime, marks another attempt by fox to bring another futuristic scifi drama to its network, after the failed attempt this year with Almost Human.

The story is set to follow One of the three Precogs when he struggles to lead a “normal” human life, but remains haunted by visions of the future, when he meets a detective haunted by her past who just may help him find a purpose to his gift. Borenstein will executive produce with Amblin TV’s Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey. Spielberg, who obviously is close to the property, was involved in developing the series take.

Cruise is not expected to star in the new series, as at the end of the movie his character was forced to go on the run, after being accused of a future murder himself.

As always we will keep you posted.
