Michelle Keegan & Mackenzie Crook join cast of BBC Thriller Ordinary Lies

In her first appearance since leaving Coronation Street, Michelle Keegan is set to star in a dark thriller entitled Ordinary Lies.

From the creators of the hugely successful Happy Valley, the BBC have commissioned a new drama with an all-star cast signed on.

Starring alongside Keegan will be Max Beesley (Mad Dogs), Mackenzie Crook (Pirates of the Caribbean Movies), Jo Joyner ( Eastenders), Belinda Stewart-Wilson ( Inbetweeners) and

comedian Jason Manford.

The series will be set on the shopfloor of a motor showroom, and how a series of each character’s lies and secrets can lead to life-changing consequences.

Beesley plays boss Mike, whose marriage to Alison (Stewart-Wilson) is in trouble as he appears to be interested in Head of Sales Beth (Joyner). Beth is still struggling with the disappearance of her husband, while handling her sales team consisting of family man Marty (Manford), former gambler Pete (Crook) and Fat Jason (Bukhari).

Meanwhile, Kathy (Sally Lindsey) works as Mike’s PA who enjoys office gossip while having a secret risqué private life. Receptionists Tracy (Keegan) and Viv (Skeet) are wannabe WAGs who dream of a life of luxury, and Head of Online Sales Grace (Callard) is desperate to be part of their gang but lacks their confidence.

Writer and creator Brocklehurst said: “I’m delighted to have attracted such an amazing cast to Ordinary Lies. This is a show I’m truly passionate about, and it’s a dream come true to be making such a bold series for BBC One.

The new series is set to air in 2015.
