One of the many films on the horizon for Marvel is Doctor Strange set for release in 2016, Marvels Studios president has recently spoke out about the future of the Movie.

Marvels President Kevin Feige recent said on the future of the movie that it will be,

“a classic Marvel origin story, because he’s got one of the best origins ever, and it’s our opportunity to take that left turn into the supernatural.”

the original character in the comics was Stephen Strange a brilliant but arrogant surgeon, always willing to watch his bottom line to make more money. But when an accident gravely injures his hands, his career never quite recovers. Too proud to take on a teaching position, Strange is determined to find a cure that will restore his career and his life. But his downward spiral continues after burning through his funds, reduced to homelessness and performing shady medical procedures for little money. However, Strange gets word of a mysterious sorcerer known as the Ancient One, who may have the cure to Strange’s ailment. Convinced, Strange travels to the Himalayas in order to meet him. However, life has different plans in store for Strange as he finds out that he’s not going to return to his career as a surgeon. What the Ancient One has planned for him, is to train his protege in order to protect the world against evil, as a sorcerer. What Strange may have found, is not only his salvation, but his destiny as the new Sorcerer.

On commenting on the Sorcerers journey Feige also added,

“Now what is the definition of ‘supernatural’? It varies. We like the idea of playing with alternate dimensions, and Strange, in the very sort of Ditko, crazy acid trip way of travelling through dimensions and travelling through realms, is something that we think is very, very cool – playing with perceptions of reality.

Feige continued

“It is mind-bending – and it’s all based in physics and based in quantum mechanics, and we’re gonna play a lot with the notion of that as an explanation of how the sorcerers do what they do.”

Scott Derrickson is set to direct the movie, with no one confirmed to playing Doctor Strange although many actors have been attached.
