With Zack Snyders 2013 movie Man Of Steel being a huge success, Syfy are currently developing a prequel TV series entitled Krypton.

We first heard about the idea of a Superman prequel series at the end of October when David Goyer was attached to the series tentatively called Krypton. Syfy is now officially working with the MAN OF STEEL screenwriter as well as Warner Horizon Television and DC Comics to bring the series to the small screen.

The official synopsis states, “”Years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracised. This series follows The Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.”

The series is set to follow in similar footsteps to Fox series Gotham, which is a prequel to the origins of Batman.

It will be interesting to see how it will be done, as the series will be based within an alien world from which we have seen very little of in the movies.

No official release date has been confirmed yet, but we expect to hear more on this next year, with it anticipated for release around Autumn 2015.
