The 6th series of the blood sucking drama Vampire Diaries is set to air on ITV 2 at 9 pm November 4th.

Based on the book series by LJ Smith, The Vampire Diaries tells the story of two vampire brothers, obsessed with the same girl, in a small town where supernatural beings live in secret amongst its residents. The drama series is produced by CBS Television Studios & Warner Bros. Television and stars Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Steven R. McQueen, Sara Canning, Kat Graham, Candice Accola, Zach Roerig, Kayla Ewell and Michael Trevino.

The opening episode of the show’s sixth season sees Elena return to Whitmore College after spending the past four months coping with the loss of Damon in an unconventional and potentially dangerous way. Unable to move on, Caroline is desperate to find a way to reverse the anti-magic spell the Travelers have put over Mystic Falls and grows frustrated when her calls to Stefan go unanswered. And Tyler, who is human once again, has a run-in at a football tailgate that tests his ability to control his anger, while Matt worries that Jeremy is dealing with the loss of Bonnie in a self-destructive way.

After True Blood finishing its 7th and final series this year, it could be the only fix that vamp lovers could get their fix, see the trailer below.

The CW is currently airing the 6 season in  the US, which kicked off back on October 2nd.
