Fox set to remake 24, Empire renewed, Minority Report & Frankenstein code receive full season orders 2015 to 2016 schedule released

Fox have confirmed their renewals and cancellation for the 2015 to 2016 season with a couple of reboots in their, as well as some new series order.

It was announced some time ago that the Batman prequel Gotham would return, although rating for the series started of strong the have not faired so well on the back end, even if the show has picked up momentum in way of story line and character building.  Another new series to join their DC Comics world is new series Lucifer which  follows the eponymous character who, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

One of the biggest announcements to come out recently is that 90’s series The X-Files is being revived, with a 6 part mini series and both Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny set to reprise their roles.

Since 24 Live another day made a return last Spring there has been a lot of chatter about where Fox will take the franchise, their has even been talk about Jack Bauer returning in a feature film.

The recent announcement on the franchise from CEO Gary Newman was “We have been developing another version of 24, but it’s still fairly early in the development process”, Newman revealed on the call. “So there just would be nothing that we could tell you at this time other than we are working on something.”

Other new shows to be confirmed for full series orders are TV adaptions of the Tom Cruise Movie Minority Report, along with Frankensteins code which is led by former True Blood star ( & Eastenders if in the UK), the series follows a cop that is brought back from the dead.

Scream Queens is set air on Tuesday night on the network along with 2 new comedy series Grinder and Grandfathered.

Kevin Bacon series The following has been cancelled after seeing rating drop over its third season, other series to be given the chop are Backstorm and comedy Weird Loners.

Brooklyn Nine Nine received a season renewal with Sleepy Hollow narrowly getting to see a season3, music based Empire will also be back for a season 2 after receiving excellent reviews.

Finally Bones will be back for an 11th season the network have confirmed.
