Fargo season 2 signs Kirsten Dunst – Casting News

The award-winning series Fargo is set to return for a second season next year, with Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons  both set to take roles.

FX’s new episodes of the Crime Drama Fargo, will be set nearly 30 years before the events of season one.

Dunst will be playing small town beautician Peggy Blomquist, whose dreams for a more adventurous life are at odds with the traditional confines of her marriage.

Former Breaking Bad actor Plemons will portray Peggy Blomquist’s husband Ed, a butcher’s assistant who is struggling to understand his wife’s desires.

Nick Offerman and Jeffrey Donovan have also been linked to roles in the series, while no actor has yet been cast as the young version of Keith Carradine’s season one character Lou Solverson.

The show’s freshman run featured such stars as Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Bob Odenkirk and Oliver Platt, not to mention breakout star Alison Tollman.

Fargo airs on FX in the US and Channel 4 in the UK.
