Sylvester Stallone’s Expendables franchise has built in momentum, with it now confirmed that 2 more movies will be made, along with a TV series.

The first Expendables movie was released in 2010, and brought 80’s and 90’s action stars like Stallone, Dolph Lundgren Jet Li, Mickey Rouke and cameos from both Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger team up with current stars like Jason Staham, Terry Crews and Steve Austin. With the movie appealing to both younger movie goers and older movie goers for nostalgic reasons, the movie went on to pull in over $270 million worldwide on a $80 million budget.

So of course a sequel was lined up, with both Willis and Arnie taking on larger roles and both Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris being thrown into the mix. the movie topped its predecessor ranking in over $300 million worldwide.

So it was thought that a trilogy would see a guaranteed money spinner with the now fixtures of the movie including Stallone, Statham and Arnie along with Wesley Snipe, Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson. But the movie was leaked online prior to its release and with that the studio blaming this for poor sales figures pulling the lowest of them all at just over $200 million. It was also assumed that the reason for its failure was down to it being rated as a PG-13 ( 12A) rather that the previous movies as R Rated Movie ( 15).

So it was left wondering what would happen to the franchise, with a female lead cast already mooted around prior to Expendable 3 release entitled Expendabella would anything be happening.

Well it seems that not only will we be getting and Expendables 4 with it has been rumored to be starring Pierce Bronsan, but also a and Expendables 5, along with the Expendabella and an event series ( which we presume they mean is similar to 24 Live another Day) all coming our way.

The TV series will also be produced by Stallone, with Greg Coolidge (Ride Along) and Kirk Ward on writing and executive producing duties.
