Geoff Johns Cheif Creative officers at DC Comics,  has spoken about how DC Comics and Marvel have decided to take different approach’s to their material.

The CCO explained how Warner Bros’ approach to its on-screen properties differs from Marvel Studios’.

“I like [Agents of] SHIELD a lot,” he told BuzzFeed. “I love what Marvel does. I’m a huge fan. It’s just a different approach.

“I’ll just say this on the Marvel side, and I have tons of friends who work there, I think we’re [both] trying to embrace the material. We’re just embracing ours in a different way.”

Johns explained why, unlike Marvel, DC’s television shows will remain distinct from its films, with different actors portraying the same heroes.

“We look at it as the multiverse,” he said. “We have our TV universe and our film universe, but they all co-exist.

“For us, creatively, it’s about allowing everyone to make the best possible product, to tell the best story, to do the best world. Everyone has a vision and you really want to let the visions shine through.”

The separation of the film and television properties was confirmed this month with the announcement of Ezra Miller starring in the 2018 Flash film. Grant Gustin plays the hero in the recently launched television series.

For now, DC has plans to add a Supergirl series on CBS, but there is no word on whether it will exist in the same ARROW/FLASH universe or a distinct one like FOX’s GOTHAM.
