The BBC  one 3 part mini series set to air later in the year has released its first trailer.

David Morrissey (The Walking Dead) stars as taxi driver Vince McKee, Claudie Blakeley (What Remains, The Nightwatch) plays his wife, Ros, and Sacha Parkinson (Coronation Street) as their daughter Katie in BBC One’s brand-new original British drama.

The Driver tells the story of Vince who, following a family mystery, blames himself and his inadequacies and, out of this crisis, he accepts an offer to start driving for a criminal gang. The drama is ultimately a redemptive story about a man who, under incredible circumstances, gets a second chance.

Charlotte Moore, Controller of BBC One, says: “The Driver is a gripping tale of an ordinary life turned upside down and it’s wonderful to announce David Morrissey returning to BBC One after his fine performance in this week’s critically acclaimed hit The 7.39.”

The three-parter was created by Danny Brocklehurst & Jim Poyser and is produced by Red Production Company and Highfield Pictures. Jolyon Simmonds is the series producer, while David Morrissey, Nicola Shindler and Polly Hill are the executive producers. The Hour helmer Jamie Payne directed The Driver.
