USA Network thriller covert Affairs will not be coming back after season 5 it has been confirmed.

The CIA drama fronted by Piper Perabo premiered in 2010 to nearly 5 million viewers but has gradually declined from season to season with season 4 premiering with only 2.88 million viewers and the current season 5 dropping to 1.88 million.

The fifth run of Covert Affairs recently ended on a cliffhanger as CIA agent Annie Walker (Perabo) was mulling a marriage proposal and a job promotion.

Deck the Halls writers Matt Corman and Chris Ord brought Covert Affairs to the USA Network back in 2010.

Perabo would go on to earn a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama Series in 2011.

Its unlikely but another network or one of the streaming services may pick it up for 1 more season to enable the series to have a proper ending.

In the UK Channel Really dropped the series after under performing in its 4th season.
