Producers of the Saw franchise have spoken out about a Saw revival.

Producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules  are both keen to bring back the successful horror franchise that churned out 7 movies over 7 years.

“James Wan and Leigh Whannell… when Saw came out they were so afraid of being ‘the Saw guys’, and they were trying to make their own mark,” Koules told

“Now that they’ve made their own mark, they’re very comfortable to come back. We’re getting there. James and Leigh are absolutely going to put their mark on it.”

Wan has spent the last few years writing and directing both Insidious movie as well as directing The Conjuring and finishing up on Fast & Furious 7.

Whilst Whannell co-wrote with Wan the first 2 Insidious movies, he is currently completing work for the screenplay for Insidious chapter 3.

The franchise to date has brought in nearly 1 Billion dollars, on an overall production budget of around $70 million which gives good reason for the producers wanting to see the duo return.

The producers said that they wanted to bring the next film to San Diego Comic-Con in 2016.

Saw is set to celebrate 10 years since the first movie, by re releasing the original into cinemas over Halloween see the trailer below.
