Continuum to get a 4th and final season on Syfy

Continuum the futuristic series, will be renewed by the Syfy channel for one last 4th season it has been announced.

The series that centres on police officer Kiera Cameron from the year 2077, who is sent back in time along with a a group of terrorists to the present day.

The news was announced by Rachel Nichols,the actress who takes on the lead role as Kiera Cameron via her twitter page.

The final 4th season will consist of 6 episodes and will bring the series to a close.

“Yes, the words LAST SEASON and ONLY SIX EPISODES are a disappointment to many, but look at the bright side: #CONTINUUM gets a proper ending!” Nichols wrote.

“Continuum’s award-winning success on Showcase is a testament to the quality of our Canadian original productions,” said Christine Shipton, Senior Vice President of Content for Shaw Media. “With Executive Producer Simon Barry at its helm, the fourth and final season of Continuum is bound to deliver a heroic conclusion to the futuristic series.”

It was recently announced that Syfy had picked up season 3 in the UK which is set to be aired in January.

Season 4 will shoot in the Spring.
