The story of  the world renowned illusionist Harry Houdini, has been made in to a 4 part Mini series, UK viewers can look forward to seeing it air on Channel 4.

Houdini which began airing in the US this week ( September 1st) follows the man (Adrian Brody) as he finds fame, engages in espionage, battles spiritualists and encounters the greatest names of the era, from U.S. presidents to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Grigori Rasputin. The drama chronicles the life of a man who can defy death through his stunts, his visions and his mastery of illusion.

This new series joins the list of series that Channel 4 have picked p from US networks, with Marvels Agents of Shield series 2 set to air in the coming months and Fargo being a big hit earlier in the year.  Channel 4 will also continue to air Homeland, Nashville and the Good Wife.

We don’t really know as to whether or not this is intended as a 1 off  series, or if the series will concentrate on a particular part of Houdini life.  One thing we know for sure is that if series 1 finish with Houdini unfortunate death that series 2 will be a no goer.
