Writers Jack and Harry Williams, have spoke out about the possibility of bringing the BBC 1 drama back for a second series.

The guardian recently reported that both the writers are in talks with the BBC regarding a follow up to the series.

“It’s in negotiations, I think that’s fair to say,” said Jack. “It’s definitely something we are keen to do and [the BBC] feel like they’re keen to do but to say any more may be too difficult.  All we can say is that this [series] will have closure to it,” said Jack. “I don’t want someone at the BBC to kill me!”

The series that stars James Nesbitt is currently airing on BBC 1 on Tuesday nights,  which follows Tony Hughs ( Nesbitt) , whose five year old son went missing during the 2006 world cup, and 5 years later starts to put the pieces together of his disappearance.  The series follows Tony in the present day as well as flashback to 2006.
