Bates Motel receives season 4 & 5 renewal

The thriller based on Alfred Hitchocks 1960 movie Pyscho has received an order for a further 2 more seasons.

Bates Motels will be back for season 4 and a 5th season meaning it will be on air until atleast 2017.

Bates Motel’s creator and producer Carlton Cuse is expected to return for seasons four and five, as are its stars Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga.

The series that acts a prequel to the original movie is expected at some point to catch up with time frame of Pyscho, meaning the order of a further 20 episodes  could be to ensure that they are able to tell the full story.

“The vision of our incredible creative team has exposed the steady breakdown of the relationship between Norman and Norma Bates,” said Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager of A&E and Lifetime. “We are thrilled to bring fans two more seasons to witness the next stages of Norman’s transformation into the most notorious psychopath in cinematic history.”
