.Michael Fassbender as Assassin creed..
The movie adaption of the popular game Assassin Creed, has now moved on from the development stage with the announcement of casting Michael Fassbender in the lead.

The game which was first released in 2007, has been in talks for the past couple of years, with it seeming that production could start within the next 12 months after it also being confirmed that french actress Marion Cotillard, has been cast along side Fassbender.

Cotillards most notables roles are from Inception and The Dark Knight Rises, with her currently set to star opposite Fassbender in Macbeth later this year.

While we don’t know for certain, ASSASSIN’S CREED seems to be based on the first game in the series which focused on the character of Altair during the Third Crusade in the 12th century.

Michael Fassbenders is currently playing Steve Jobs in the biopic about the Apple co-founders life and is also set to reprise his role in X-Men: Apocalypse as Mageneto. We assume that once he has finished filming on these 2 movies that production will movie forward on Assassin creed.

Director Justin Kurzel is set to helm the movie with Exodus: Gods and Kings duo Bill Collage and Adam Cooper both writing the screenplay.

Assassin Creed is expected to hit Cinemas December 2016.
