Arrow and Flash both get season renewals whilst The CW look to pilot ‘Atom’ series

The CW have confirmed that both the DC comic series will be back, with Arrow picking up a season 4 and The Flash picking up a season 2 order.

This early announcement of season renewals, comes after Arrow continued to perform well it its time slot with an average audience share of 3 million,  The Flash opened to strong viewing figures with nearly 5 million viewers tuning in to the CW to catch Barry Allen become the DC Comics superhero.

Both series saw their highest viwing figures during the cross over episodes, where Arrow featured in the Flash seeing viewing figures hit 4.3 million and the when The Flash featured in The Arrow seeing viewing figures hit nearly 4 million.

The success of both the series has seen The CW enter talks about the possibility of having a 3rd DC comics series on their screens, with Brandon Routh ‘Atom’ entering the mix.

If this is to go ahead then it will see the TV Dc Comics universe expand further, with creator Berlanti also working on Supergirl for CBS although at present it is unclear as to whether this will also be part of the shared universe or follow in the footsteps of Fox Gotham and be a standalone series.

This news follows the aannouncementthat Supernatural, Jane The Virgin, The 100, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals and Reign, will also receives season renewals.
